"The Murder Man" (1935) Great cast. Good flick. Never released on DVD. Don't know about VHS, but probably not. Acquired by TCM along with the rest of MGM's library. Therefore TCM is the only current source. Chances of it being PD are slim to none.

Remade by MGM in 1936 as a two-reel short, as part of the "A Crime Does Not Pay" series.

I have a hard copy of TCM's 2009 catalog; it lists Mystery Man (1935)as being available on a double feature DVD, partnered with The Racketeer (1929).

TCM's catalog number for the DVD is D9-6509, and the list price 14.99.

Sorry: just realized my error. You're correct: The Murder Man (not Mystery Man, which is what I'd mistakenly reported on)doesn't seem to be available.
